Dear Dr. Crasto, I wanted to reach out to you firstly, to commend you on the website, newdrugapprovals.org. I have found this to be extremely helpful with our research. The key mandate in my current position here at SEI Healthcare is to expand our business operations into APAC, focusing on Medical Education campaigns focused on newly approved drugs in this region. I am however, finding it extremely challenging when I search into each individual country’s Drug Agency, so I wanted to ask your opinion on how might I be able to stay abreast of all newly approved drugs and diagnostics into each country (particularly the major markets)? At present, I am finding it very difficult to locate where to find databases or news pertaining to drug approvals in the following locations. New Zealand Korea Hong Kong/ China Japan Your advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Steve

Dear Anthony,
I am sorry to hear from your website that you are suffering from transverse myelitis and I wish you well.
The reason for my visit to your website is that I am looking for a source of VX-659, the next generation of CF treatment, which is to be used in combination with VX-770 (ivacaftor) and VX-661 (tezacaftor), the synthesis of which you have very expertly detailed.
Do you think it is possible to manufacture VX-659?
With very best regards,
Margaret

Dear Dr Crasto,
I have been following and reading your websites for quite a while, and before I come to my main reason of writing, would like to express my admiration for your activities, and for your approach to cope with your physical condition. Thank you!
It is also an incredibly nice move of you to make your wide knowledge on medical chemistry available to the many. I am very grateful for that, and no doubt you thus help many thousands of people.
Now to my reason for writing: I am trying to find out more about EPI-743, i.e. Vatiquinone, and its production. I hope you do not mind if I ask you a few questions on it:
- Do you know, or where can I find out, whether Vatiquinone is a patented substance in Europe?
- What do you know about the process of manufacturing the substance oneself in the lab? Is this a complex or difficult process?
In case you wonder why I am asking – our family is affected by a type of mitochondrial disease which may well profit from EPI-743 (according to published studies), yet the substance itself is, currently at least, inaccessible and there are no clinical trials running at the moment. As we are engaged in a race against time, literally, I thus wonder about other ways to get access to Vatiquinone, especially given its relative excellent profile when it comes to side effects, etc.
I am very much looking forward to hearing from you –
Best, Alexander Batthyany
